What Better Things is

We list sessions and take bookings and payments for them. The session itself is run by the provider, and often by a host who gives the space. Where a provider or host is responsible for something — running the activity safely, refunding a session they cancelled — that responsibility is theirs, and this agreement says so rather than blurring it.

Accounts

One account per person, real details, and no sharing of logins. Participants do not need a role to book; hosting or running sessions requires an application we review, because we are putting strangers in a room.

Booking and payment

A booking is a seat held for you. Where a date is paid, authorising your card reserves the amount and we charge it when the provider or host approves you — an unapproved booking is released rather than charged, and a held amount that is never approved expires back to your card. If your booking is canceled after payment, the amount that is still returnable is refunded to the card it came from; banks typically post it in 5–10 business days.

Prices are shown per person for each date. A host may set the price for their own date within the terms of the listing, so the number on the date you pick is the number that matters.

Cancellations and no-shows

You can cancel from the session page; a paid seat is refunded subject to what the provider's own policy for that listing says, which is displayed before you pay. If you do not attend and did not cancel, the provider may charge what the listing said they may, because the seat went unused.

If a session is canceled by us, the provider or the host, you are refunded in full and told what happened.

Safety, and the waiver you accept

Every booking requires accepting a liability waiver covering injury and loss, with the carve-out the law insists on: nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Sessions can involve physical activity, food, animals, tools, water or unfamiliar people; if something about a date makes you unsure, ask before you book and we will tell you what we know.

Behaviour matters more than waivers. We can refuse a booking, remove a listing or end an account for conduct that makes a session unsafe, and we do not need a court order to decide that a particular host is not a good idea.

Photographs and media

Whether a session is photographed is asked at booking. Consent is recorded against your booking, and you can withdraw it for the future at any time; it cannot un-take a photograph already shared.

Hosts and providers

A host listing a space vouches for the safety of that space and for anyone they let attend. A provider running a session is responsible for its content, its price, and its refunds. We pass through payment and hold a fee for the marketplace; where a date pays out, the split is recorded on the date, not negotiated afterwards.

Venue information, capacity and amenities are the listing owner's responsibility. We check listings, and checking is not a guarantee.

Content you post

Reviews, session descriptions, photos: you keep the rights, and you give us a licence to display them on the service and in links that promote a session. You are responsible for having the right to post what you post, including anyone visible in it.

Limits

We aim to be available and we do not promise to be uninterrupted. Our liability for anything is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question, except where the law says a limit cannot apply — including anything that flows from our own negligence.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time; ask us to delete your account and we will, subject to records we must keep. We may suspend an account for fraud, danger to participants, or repeated broken promises about a listing.

Law and contact

These terms and the privacy page are read together; the personal-data parts of how we operate live in the privacy page, not here.

This page describes how the product as built behaves, and it was written against the code rather than from a template. It is not legal advice, it has not been reviewed by a Singapore lawyer, and where it says something we have not built, that is the honest current state rather than a promise about the product.
